BJC 2026

All Hallows Catholic High School, Penwortham
3rd to the 9th of April 2026

Is it your first time at BJC?

Here is what to expect:

BJC is a fantastic event where the circus community comes together for a week to practice, take part in workshops, watch shows and socialise with friends. The juggling hall is open 24 hours a day for the entire event, so there’s always somewhere to go and practice, no matter the time of day. Camping is included and we have a caterer on site serving meals throughout the week. Our juggler-run bar has a range of reasonably-priced drinks. There is no need to sign up to workshops, just head along to the time and location specified on the card. Our workshops are run by attendees just like you who want to share something with the community.

There’s an online version of our timetable if you want to check out the workshops and shows before you arrive: http://www.circustimetable.com/bjc2026#timetable

What if I cant juggle?

Not to worry! There’s plenty to do that doesn’t involve juggling including a variety of workshops for other props and disciplines as well as workshops completely unrelated to circus, such as crafting. There are also shows every evening, plenty of space to socialise, and a dedicated board game room. If you would like to learn how to juggle, there will be a 3-ball beginner juggling workshop every day run by one of our volunteers Shaun. Head along and he’ll get you started!

Are there props to borrow (juggling balls, diabolo, poi etc)?

People are generally expected to bring their own props to the event. However, if you want to try something new, or don’t have the right prop for a workshop, there will be a Prop Library box in the 24hr juggling hall. Please look after whatever you borrow and return it there when you’ve finished.

If you want to borrow someone else’s prop, please ask them first.

Finally, you can find Oddballs in our trader’s room to buy yourself a shiny new prop!

Volunteering

The event is run by a different team of volunteers every year and volunteering is a great way to make friends and meet new people. The BJC is run “by juggers for jugglers” whether it’s performing in the Open Stage, running a workshop, pulling pints on the bar or doing a litter pick around site… If you want to get involved, head to the info point and find out what jobs need doing. For every hour of volunteering, you can earn one of our volunteer rewards.

Anxious and would like a friendly face or a tour of the site?

We have a 'Volunteer & Info Point' where our crew will be happy to find you a friendly volunteer to help you navigate the event.

I am a beginner and worried everyone is going to be better than me

Everyone starts somewhere, and everyone at BJC has been where you are at some point or another. BJC is a really friendly and welcoming community and lots of people will be happy to help you get started. We have a wide range of skill levels among attendees, we cover a very broad range of skills, and everyone is equally welcome. There are also a number of beginners workshops on the timetable.
